The Government of Navarra, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), has announced grants for actions to adapt to the risk of flooding of buildings, equipment and facilities or existing farms in the Ebro Basin.
These subsidies, whose application period opened on July 11 and are granted through the competitive concurrence system, are aimed at developing measures to adapt to the risk of flooding of buildings, equipment, facilities, agricultural or livestock farms, so as to minimize the damage caused by floods.
The amount of the subsidy will be 80% of the budget considered eligible for financing, excluding VAT, with a maximum for each person and line of action of 50,000 euros .
The actions may have been carried out prior to the approval of this call for proposals, provided that they were not started before March 6, 2021 and must be completed before September 6, 2025.
The subsidies are aimed at individuals, legal entities and communities of owners and the properties, buildings, equipment or facilities to be subsidized must be located in the municipalities bordering the axis of the Ebro River and its tributaries in the Community of Navarra.
The following lines of action will be financed:
- Acquisition and installation of equipment or materials that prevent the entry of water or facilitate its evacuation, such as:
- Temporary or permanent barriers
- Bilge pumps
- Non-return valves
- Other elements
- Actions that contribute to flood risk reduction, including flood risk adaptation actions in vulnerable elements, such as:
- Waterproofing or redesigning of facades
- Construction or improvement of perimeter walls
- Protection or sealing of openings (windows, ventilation grills, installation skids, etc.)
- Protection or relocation of vulnerable installations (switchboards, transformers, boilers, fuel tanks, etc.)
- Other works to improve the flood risk of existing facilities and buildings and increase their resilience.
- Actions to adapt to the risk of flooding of agricultural and livestock farms, such as:
- Installation of temporary or permanent flood gates and/or flood barriers
- Sealing and waterproofing of exterior walls and sills
- Raising or sealing of entry thresholds
- Elevation of the floor of halls
- Elevation or protection of infrastructures/equipment/facilities
- Construction of access ramps
- Creation, extension or improvement of drainage systems, redesign of irrigation networks and systems so that they run under the natural terrain.
- Creation of natural buffer strips
- Rearrangement/rotation of crops and selection of flood resistant species.
- Creation of temporary controlled flood zones
- Temporary housing for animals
- Permanent or temporary sheds
- Others
