published on May 2, 2023, the Order by which the Government of Aragon approves the call for subsidies to local entities for the acquisition of private plots affected by floods necessary for the implementation of interventions within the Ebro Resilience Strategy or other flood risk management actions, the purchase of which will be financed by the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (Next Generation EU Funds).
Through these grants, municipalities will be able to purchase private land in order to carry out actions designed to develop the Ebro Resilience Strategy or other flood risk management interventions. The objective is to reduce as much as possible the number of damages caused by large river floods.
The overall amount of the call for proposals is 300,000 euros.
300,000, charged to the expenditure budget of the Aragonese Water Institute, financed by EU Next Generation Funds, with the following time distribution: 100,000 euros for 2023, 170,000 euros for 2024 and 30,000 euros for 2025.
The maximum individual amount per beneficiary will be 60,000 euros, with a maximum financing percentage of 100% of the cost of the investment to be made, excluding taxes. Each applicant entity may only make a single application.
The concession regime will be competitive and the beneficiaries may be those local entities of the Autonomous Community of Aragon included in the territorial scope of Royal Decree 731/2022, of September 6: municipalities bordering the axis of the Ebro river, from Novillas to the mouth of the Aguas Vivas river in the municipality of La Zaida.
The amount of the aid corresponding to each of the plots included in the application will be limited per unit of surface area according to its use by the reference values per municipality that can be accessed at this link. There will also be the possibility of making advance payments up to a limit of 90% of the total amount of the subsidy.
