After a year of work, the phase of morphological adaptation of the Ebro River in the meander of La Roza, Alfaro, La Rioja, has been completed.
This action, which has been carried out by the Ebro Hydrographic Confederation, one of the LIFE partners, constitutes the bulk of the work of the project to mitigate the risk of flooding in this section, in the absence of environmental restoration to be carried out by the Government of La Rioja.
The intervention is part of the combined section of actions, a series of mitigation measures that together have a general benefit and which includes the project planned in the meander of El Señorío, in Castejón, Navarra.

The total investment of the intervention, including the forthcoming environmental restoration, is 2.2 million euros, with the support of the European Union’s LIFE financial instrument.
