In addition to actions in the territory, resilience is built through tools that promote self-protection among the riparian population.
One example is the municipal civil protection plans for floods.
These documents are permanent and updated information, forecast and warning devices, with the capacity to protect the threatened population and reduce the negative effects of floods.
If your town is in an area considered at risk of flooding, it is interesting to check if the municipality has this Plan which, among other issues, includes:
✅ How to prepare for extreme events
✅ Tips for real estate
✅ Warning protocol
✅ Protocol and evacuation points and meeting points
✅ Useful addresses and contacts
✅ Detection of vulnerable elements
✅ Measures.
If you live in Aragon in the middle stretch of the Ebro you can here we have gathered the plans of the riverside municipalities at risk of flooding and the Government of Aragon.
