Social capacity building in the LIFE project

How do we understand social capacity building?

The LIFE Ebro Resilience P1 project has developed a Capacity Building Plan Social. Social capacity building is a central element to improve social resilience to floods and self-protection of the riparian population. Vulnerability is part of risk, and capabilities are part of vulnerability. If we strengthen capabilities, we reduce risk.

What are social capabilities? What capabilities do we seek to strengthen?

Capacities are personal and collective competencies that enable greater self-management in the face of floods. They have to do with knowledge about risk and adaptation, self-protection, organization, involvement, etc.

  How can you get involved?

You can get involved through sectoral and cross-sectoral campaigns to improve your capabilities, through the use of the informative materials we are generating, or through the mayoral forum.
