New: follow-up studies on the technique for the recovery of old river branches

The Ebro Hydrographic Confederation has published two studies that increase the knowledge on the evolution of areas where old branches of the river have been recovered, one of the actions included in the LIFE Ebro Resilience P1 works.

Work begins on adaptation to flood risk in section 2 of the LIFE Project: Osera de Ebro – Fuentes de Ebro (Zaragoza)

The first action will reduce the exposure to flooding of the irrigation system of the Irrigation Community of the Huerta del Ebro, an intervention carried out by the Government of Aragon, to define the actions has been counted throughout the process with the users through the stable groups of participation of the LIFE Ebro Resilience P1 Project

The LIFE Ebro Resilience Project works with the education sector in the intervention areas.

Both the participation plan and the proposals to increase social capabilities and knowledge about floods have teachers and other educational profiles as a key sector. For this reason, specific actions are started with them, such as the one aimed at analyzing the material that is being prepared for schoolchildren.

Ebro Resilience participation actions, Botín Foundation award for sustainable management

We continue to congratulate ourselves with the Ebro Resilience strategy and the new actions for adaptation to floods. Its participatory proposal, with our colleague Alba Ballester at the head, has been recognized for its actions to involve the population and the search for conflict resolution.

We participated in the conference for journalists “Information in the face of extreme events”.

The LIFE Ebro Resilience P1 Project collaborated in the organization of this session aimed at journalists and journalism students, one of the main sectors to prepare the population for flood risk, to increase their knowledge of this phenomenon and to explain and inform about adaptation actions.

Ebro Resilience at the Water Engineering Conference: green infrastructures and adaptation measures

The LIFE Ebro Resilience P1 Project has presented in Cartagena a summary poster of the project and an article explaining the positive results expected from the interventions, reducing the risk of flooding and recovering 60 hectares of river space.
